Ray Jackson 1931 – 1989

This is a tribute to a man who was a brilliant young actor and one of the kindest people in the world.

When one is young you never think about sickness or dying, so when it happens it is devastating to the partner who is left.

RAY JACKSON was my soul mate, my life time lover, my partner and most of all my friend we were together for just 40 yrs. But as they say “The Good Die Young” and the price of great love, brings great misery when one of you dies, and to this very day I am still lost without him.

Ray at Sir Geoffrey Faber’s House in Russell Square

Sir Geoffrey Faber (1889 – 1961), was Ray’s mentor. He was the chairman of Faber and Faber the Publishers, from 1929 until his retirement in 1960.  He became a prominent figure in the world of publishing and as President of the Publishers’ Association fought a successful campaign in 1940 to prevent taxation on books. Books were made exempt as they still are. He was knighted in 1954.
